SASTRA University is located in Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. SASTRA Thanjavur was established in 1984 as Shanmugha College of Engineering. SASTRA courses, infrastructure, teaching methods, and learning facilities are considered among the best in the country. Since its inception, the SASTRA Deemed University has attained a national standing in academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities.
The university has been rewarded with a number of accreditations and rankings. SASRA University was reaccredited with Grade ‘A’ by the NAAC. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and has also featured in the HRD Ministry’s NIRF rankings in the engineering category in the previous years.
