Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a private university located in Coimbatore. The university was founded in 1994 by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi and is managed by her international humanitarian organization Mata Amritanandamayi Math. It became one of the youngest institutions to be deemed university in the year 2003. At present, it has 6 campuses, in three south Indian states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.
